Chisholm - Mother Mary Joseph Chisholm was the first Rectress
of St Joseph’s Hospital at Parramatta, from 1886 -
1892. She was a widow when she entered the Congregation
of the Sisters of Charity, her husband having been William
Chisholm, the second son of Caroline Chisholm. Mother Joseph
was ideally suited for the office of Rectress at St Joseph’s
