 Caritas -
is part of the motto of the Sisters of Charity, “Caritas
Christi Urget Nos? which may be translated: “The
love of Christ is the motivating force in our lives?(2
Corinthians 5:14). The motto came from the text of the
sermon preached by Father Peter Kenny, S.J., at a public Clothing
Ceremony in Dublin in the early days of the Congregation.
In his sermon, Father Kenny developed the meaning of the text
to explain the aim and scope of the Congregation. Caritas
has 30 Commonwealth funded apartments.

What
Does it Cost to Live at Caritas
There
is a basic daily care fee to cover daily needs and care. This
is set at a maximum of 85% of the single aged pension plus
rental assistance, and varies according to your means. Paid
fortnightly in advance it covers:
- Three
meals per day,
- electricity,
water, and sewage rates,
- supply
and laundering of bed linen, towels and pillow cases
- building
insurance,
- weekly
cleaning of apartment,
- administration
costs
- and
personal care as required.
